I am absolutely honored that Telenet had the opportunity to host the Cable Congress 2010.

I would like to thank each and everyone one of you for your attendance at the Cable Congress Party, Your enthusiasm is well appreciated.

Personally, I really enjoyed the world class dinner, and I hope you were all as excited about the Belgium talents on display as I was!

Cable in Europe is on a roll and our success and potential as an industry does certainly not only depend on the technology but foremost on the passionate professionals and colleagues from technology vendors and media partners alike who lead the broadband and digital way.

Our objective for the evening was being able to network in an environment full of sparkling Belgium highlights.

We hope the Cable conference guests enjoyed their stay.

The Brussels Stock Exchange

The Bourse’s history starts at the dawn of the 19th century. The Brussels Stock Exchange was established in 1801 in what had been the former Augustine convent on the Wolvengracht. The Bourse then moved first to the Mint (de Munt/la Monnaie) and finally into a new building in 1874 after major economic growth. The municipality offered the project to the architect Léon Suys. The building was built upon the site of the Recollets Franciscan convent. The ruins can still be explored in the underground museum in the Beursstraat. The building was inaugurated in the presence of King Leopold II and Maria-Henrietta. The various sculptures in and around the Bourse are the work of different artists. The most important of these are the brothers Jacquet, Guillaume De Groot, Victor De Haen, Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse, Antoine-Joseph van Rasbourgh and perhaps Auguste Rodin.
